Kirksey’s work is so good I had to post some of it. I love the way he mixes simple and elegant forms and shapes with textiles and a personality that’s so memorable. His humour is also attached in a lot of his work, something that reminds me of how important it is to add a little extra into my work when the opportunity arises.

His portfolio can be found here.

Graphic Design’s hometown, the Netherlands, has no shortage of fantastic designers, illustrators, or artists. Tim Boelaars is one of the many standouts.

Tim’s work is really good, and overlaps a number of disciplines within design. His talent for bold, whimsical, geometric line work touches all areas of his portfolio. Particularly, I love his logo and icon design. I love when a designers’s personality shows through equally in layout, illustration or a super stark icon.

Check out more of Tim’s work here.

A selection of editorial illustration from Owen Gildersleeve for clients including The Guardian, Wired, Money Magazine, Fast Company Magazine and I.D. Magazine. Just love the simplicity and creativity of this guy, and the use of materials is so light and refreshing.

Just stumbled across Diego L. Rodrigez from ParanoidMe Some very inspiring illustrations, which would suit many genres, even though he has found the envious position of designing some great album work.

DyzPlastic continues to taunt us. They’ve released more Android figurines and they didn’t disappoint. The green and white one figurine is entitled “Racer”, and it’s easy to see why. The pink one is “Rupture”, and it certainly looks impressive. It has sort of a mean, yet feminine look to it. I want one on my desk sadly enough.

Brilliant 5 minute documentary on the traditions of letterpress. Worth a peak.

Letterpress is making a strong comeback it seems. I’d love to find the right project that would give me a reason to use this method. It’s authenticity and character adds something modern print has definately lost. In this case, Eric Kass, who has produced many other letterpress work, designed and printed these tags/business cards with room for writing painting details and a grommet so Abigail Blythe can add her own bits of found items.

Neuromarketing is a relatively new field that studies how a consumer’s brain reacts to marketing stimuli. A couple of years ago, a Web search on the topic would return a handful of results. Today, you’ll get close to 300,000.

Neuromarketing researchers use technology, such as MRI scans, to measure brain activity when consumers are exposed to products, brands and advertising. It’s a new, somewhat controversial tool for helping marketers fine-tune marketing campaigns, strengthen brands and design better products.

Three stamp set from Israel for support against pollution, specifically of the air, water, and noise varieties. A stroke of genius with the lower tear-off portions that reference close-up graphics and show what a pollution-free environment would look like.

As soon as my eyes found this, it just takes my brain back to only what I can describe as a ‘feeling’ – nostalgia, warm fuzzyness of that generation. The exciting times ahead!
This poster for Giro d’Italia (the Italian version of Tour de France), still holds it’s own today, only this was completely hand drawn – no computer trickery here – just love!
